About Whisky

Scottish born Whisky Falls is a Naarm (Melbourne) based multi-disciplinary performance artist, known for her burlesque performance, teaching, hosting, erotic dance and writing.

After graduating with both a BA(Hons) in Dance & Theatre Performance, and a National Diploma in Musical Theatre, Whisky’s worked as a company member of European Arts Council Funded production ‘Danger Fields’, with EIC Dance Theatre on projects supporting La Nina Danca (Brazilian organisation supporting child victims of human trafficking) to name just a few.

These experiences resulted in an invite to teaching for Bird College Conservatoire of the Arts, assisting BA(Hons) and National Diploma students in their development. This included creating short course and assessment material in jazz dance, tap dance, rhythmic movement, assessing movement analysis papers, presentations and dissertations, as well as involvement in movement direction, production management, set build, costume design and wardrobe management.

At the same time, living and working in London’s West End, Whisky found herself drawn into the ever curious and evolving world of cabaret.

Whisky performed burlesque for the first time by producing her very own burlesque cabaret in February 2012, at the Piccadilly Theatre's exclusive 'Cabaret Piccadilly'. Whisky has been a finalist in the Neo Burlesque Awards & Burlesque Idol (London, UK.) In both 2013 & 2014 Whisky also placed Runner Up in the World Burlesque Games (London, UK).

By 2016, Whisky's success became a solo venture, and she was invited to perform at Burlesque Festivals around Europe. Whisky was Runner Up at both Stuttgart Burlesque Festival and Bohemian Burlesque Festival, given these accolades by judges including Lada Redstarr and Dirty Martini respectively. After winning many accolades in the burlesque industry, Whisky teamed up with fellow performer Jeanie Wishes to create 'Whisky & Wishes'. Together, they were crowned the Variety Winners at the 2017 World Burlesque Games.

Whisky has headlined shows at the London Burlesque Festival & Best of Burlesque (Edinburgh Fringe), as well as countless shows in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Germany & the Czech Republic.

In 2018, the Scottish pin up brought her rich and dramatic tones to the Australian stages a mere 2 days after landing; Known as 'the wee dram of glam' Whisky has a repertoire that is as varied as her dance background. Like a good malt, Whisky will warm the cockles of your heart with her unique blend of fire and finesse. Her blend of dance techniques, dramatics and styling will keep audiences' palates wanting more than just a wee dram.
