Student & Artist Development Reviews

Read about artist experiences working and learning from Whisky…

  • Although I'm not a newcomer to burlesque, it had been quite the unintended hiatus, and I had convinced myself there wasn't room for what I had to offer in burlesque spaces anymore. It had been too long, I was too disconnected from the community, I felt too old and like my offerings weren't good enough.

Cue private lessons with Whisky, and very quickly my body remembered not only what it was supposed to do, but how much it LOVES to do it. Whisky's direction and guidance gave me the external perspective that my act needed. Polishing the finer details like finger placement and intention, together we explored the "why" of the routine rather than just the steps, and most importantly, Whisky helped me find the missing ingredient......confidence and belief in myself.

If you have an idea that needs something to take it to the next level, I can wholeheartedly recommend one on one guidance from Whisky Falls, the perfect remedy to dust the cobwebs of this old showgal.

  • Whisky's expertise on improvisation and contemporary dance were invaluable to me in building my skills as a well-rounded performer. She is a highly-skilled teacher and her extensive training and comprehensive knowledge, coupled with her warm and welcoming approach, makes working with her a joyful and informative experience. Whisky is without a doubt one of our most authoritative voices on burlesque and live performance in Naarm/Melbourne.

  • Whisky has been an amazing mentor helping me not only create a specific act but define my Performance style in general. Whisky goes above and beyond in all of our sessions and has such a fun and playful way to teach new skills and workshop choreography. I have learnt so much in such a short period of time with Whisky and her passion for movement and burlesque shines through in all of her lessons.

  • Megs Akimbo - Mx Burlesque Victoria 2024

Whisky Falls was an absolute gem to work with while I was creating my Mx Burlesque package. She was kind, thoughtful, and incredibly thorough in her support. She so effortlessly understood and supported my vision, making space for my creative process to unfold naturally. I honestly couldn’t have done it without her. Endless love always for everyone’s auntie Whisky!

  • I’ve been lucky enough to have Whisky Falls as a mentor since 2022. She has worked with me on a variety of types of solo performances,  steadily guiding me to my best performances and helping me accomplish things I never thought possible.

Having been in the business for years, Whisky is a great sounding board for ideas and goal setting both on and off stage.

    I can’t recommend her enough!

  • Mentoring sessions with Whisky Falls have helped me gain ongoing confidence in act development and stage presence/persona; which have been incredibly invaluable.

Throughout, Whisky consistently asks thoughtful and insightful questions to reveal true act potential, whilst never forcing a specific direction and allowing the artist to take what they need to showcase their own unique story.

  • I initially had the pleasure of working with Whisky Falls when I started classes at Maison Burlesque in 2022. After thoroughly enjoying her teaching style in a group setting and seeing the incredible acts that she created for both Maison students and her own performances, I chose to engage Whisky as my mentor to assist in developing my first solo routine in mid-2024.

Whisky's wealth of expertise, encouragement, patience and creative vision was instrumental in helping me to take a loose idea and transform it into an act that saw me take my first steps into the world of solo performance. As a novice, this guidance was invaluable; the ideas and concepts I presented were never shot down, rather they were gently shepherded in a direction that would create a richer tapestry of storytelling, a more engaging visual performance and without a doubt, a better final act than if I'd tackled it alone.

I am exceptionally grateful to Whisky for the time and care she showed during this process, and I wholeheartedly recommend her as a teacher, mentor and performer - you will be glad you made the choice to work with her.
